An AI shopping assistant for Shopify stores.

HOLLOU syncs your catalog directly from Shopify and answers shopper questions from it — fit, compatibility, specs, what else they'll need. One script line on your storefront, checkout stays on Shopify, and when the catalog can't answer, the agent says so and captures the lead instead of guessing.

The problem

Deep catalogs outgrow search and filters.

Shopify search is built for keywords, and collections are built for narrowing. Both work until the purchase takes research. Then the shopper's question is about their situation — their machine, their room, their model year — and no filter maps to it. A generic chatbot fails differently: it answers fluently, from nowhere in particular, and a confident wrong answer about compatibility costs you a return and the customer.

01“Will this fit the model I already own?”
02“What's actually the difference between these two?”
03“What else do I need for this to work on day one?”
04“Can you quote 40 units delivered by March?”

None of these map to a filter. All of them decide the sale.

How it connects

Your catalog stays in Shopify. HOLLOU reads it.

There's no export, no duplicate product database to maintain, and nothing written back to your store.

01

Sync

HOLLOU pulls products, variants, prices and stock directly from your Shopify store on a recurring, read-only sync. Shopify stays the single source of truth.

02

Ground

Your own pages join the catalog — shipping policy, size guides, install notes. Together they're the only material the agent is allowed to answer from.

03

Embed

One script line in your theme layout. No template rebuild, no checkout changes — and removing the line removes the agent.

04

Sell

Shoppers ask in plain language. The agent answers from the synced catalog, recommends, adds to cart and hands off to your Shopify checkout — or captures the lead when the right next step is a human.

A modeled example — not customer results

Four questions on one Shopify catalog.

Imagine an espresso-equipment store on Shopify: machines, grinders, and the compatible parts that keep them running. Here is how the agent handles the questions its search box can't.

“Will this machine run on a normal 110V outlet, or does it need a dedicated line?”

Answered from the product's spec fields: listed voltage, wattage, and the manufacturer's circuit note on the product page. If the catalog doesn't state a circuit requirement, the agent says so — it doesn't infer one.

“Which water filter fits this model, and how often do I replace it?”

Answered from the catalog's compatibility data: the filter SKU linked to that machine, its price and stock, and the replacement interval where the listing states one. The agent offers to add both to cart together.

“Can someone install it and train our baristas?”

The catalog can't answer this, so the agent doesn't try. It says installation isn't something it can book, asks for contact details and the store location, and files a quote request the merchant sees in their console.

“I've got $900 for the machine, a grinder and a knock box. What works?”

A budget question across three product types. The agent assembles options from live prices and stock, shows the trade-off it made to stay under budget, and hands the finished cart to Shopify checkout.

The merchant console

What you see on your side.

Every session is logged in a console only you can sign into. The embed key on your storefront is never a login.

Sessions & funnel

Where shoppers get stuck

Sessions, engagement, add-to-cart and checkout handoff as a funnel — plus the questions your catalog couldn't answer, which is usually a listing-content gap worth fixing.

Leads & quotes

Captured, not lost

When a shopper needs a human — a quote, an install, a bulk order — the agent captures contact details and context. Each request lands in the console with the conversation attached.

Transcripts

PII-masked by default

Full transcripts of what shoppers asked, with emails, phone numbers and names masked by default and every reveal-on-demand logged.

HOLLOU earns its place on Shopify stores where the purchase takes research — the use cases show where that holds, and the plans page explains how pricing works.

Pilot terms

Tried on a slice, not a promise.

Every early merchant starts with a 30–60 day pilot on a controlled slice of traffic. We write the success criteria down together before launch, so neither side moves the goalposts — and there's no long-term contract. If the pilot doesn't show what we both hoped, one line removes the agent from your theme.

Questions

What Shopify merchants ask us.

Does it change my Shopify theme?

No. The agent is added with one script tag in your theme layout. It doesn't modify your templates, sections or styles, and removing that line removes the agent completely.

Does HOLLOU write to my store?

No. The catalog sync is read-only — products, variants, prices and stock come out of Shopify, and nothing goes in. Cart and checkout run on Shopify exactly as they do today; the agent hands shoppers to your checkout rather than replacing it.

Is this a Shopify App Store app?

No. Today installation is a one-line embed plus a direct catalog sync from your store, and we set both up with you during onboarding. There's nothing to install from the App Store and no Shopify billing — pilot terms are agreed directly with us.

What happens when my prices or stock change?

Your catalog stays in Shopify, and Shopify stays the source of truth. HOLLOU reads it on a recurring sync and answers from the synced data. If a shopper asks something the synced catalog can't answer, the agent says so instead of guessing.

What does an early-merchant pilot look like?

A 30 to 60 day pilot on a controlled slice of your traffic, with success criteria agreed in writing before launch. There's no long-term contract — if the pilot doesn't show what we both hoped, it ends, and one line removes the agent.
